Artists of The Belmont
Allison Svoboda
Allison Svoboda
Chicago based artist, Allison Svoboda is recognized for her sculptural installations and paintings. Finding the edge between intuitive and deliberate mark making, Allison’s work is a meditation on our natural environment. Her sumi-e collage works are intricate paintings layered to create sculptural works. These paintings, based on fractal geometry, are also translated into large-scale works on metal, glass and industrial fabric. In 2015, she received a fellowship to study Zen and calligraphy in Japan, which continues to influence her work. Her public art installations have been featured in such places as Nashville International Airport, Chicago’s Prudential and North Center Plazas, Abu Dhabi Ritz Carlton and Dubai Hilton. The most recent body of work, ‘wave to wave in search of water’ produced during the pandemic on the shores of her beloved Lake Michigan, has been shown in Chicago and San Francisco.

Charles Ellis
Anne Hayden Stephens
Born in Lexington Kentucky, Charles Ellis is a self-taught, abstract colorist who works mainly in oil on canvas and French paper. Painting without forethought, he works to keep ahead of the inner narrator to be fully present and connect with and express something deeper that is beautiful and aesthetic.
Charles’s work is about the subconscious and beauty; about letting dreams come through and the viewer finding the reflections of their deepest thoughts.
Feeding the mind, traveling since the age of twenty, Charles has been to museums + art galleries in Italy, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, England, Ireland, Scotland and Cuba; along with New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Houston, Cincinnati and Louisville. After living in England for five years and seven months in Cuba, Charles returned to Kentucky to drink in the colors and create from a palette rich in history and culture. He is a lifelong creative and has sold work to many galleries and collectors.

Ellie Vergura
Anne Hayden Stephens
A Chicago-based oil painter Ellie Vergura, whose minimalist style captures the essence of iconic architecture and nostalgic moments. Influenced by her great grandmother's 1920s fashion illustrations, Ellie's work features neutral palettes and silhouettes of city dwellers. We're thrilled to showcase her latest pieces in the Belmont on our Penthouse floor, adding a touch of timeless elegance to the space.
Emma Lyons
Anne Hayden Stephens
Inspired by Divisionism and Pointillism, Emma's Abstracture style combines bold colorful strokes with geometric placement using a wet-on-wet technique. She sometimes combines this with her first passion of Figurative art, invoking themes of self esteem, vulnerability, and acceptance. These works explore the idea of feeling allowed to take up space and to believe in our worth. A self-taught artist, Emma creates her encouraging art in her Albany Park home studio. She has hosted three solo shows, curated two group shows, and her work has been shared in a number of exhibitions. Her clients include Prada, InterContinental Hotel, and Chicago Shakespeare Theater, and collectors range from local Chicago to global South Korea. "My style explores the idea of feeling allowed to take up space. So often we are told, with or without words, that we need to fit in or we won’t be enough, won’t be welcomed. Here, I welcome you. I encourage you to be your rich, colorful, dynamic self. I wish to encourage you to feel uninhibited when you pursue what speaks to your soul.” Art lovers and collectors can find her work on her website gallery at EmmaLyonsArt.com, in person at many summer art fairs throughout Chicago, and on social medias all under @EmmaLyonsArt.
